“After 14 years of hard work on the floating dock, it’s time for me to pack my boots [for retirement]. I would like to … thank you and the rest of the team at Fremantle Foundry who made my life easier as the Chief Engineer and Maintainer of the dock. From the beginning Fremantle Foundry has been a big part of the Floating dock, completing the commissioning of the dock machinery to get it to where it is now. Your leadership, as well as the team, are to be commended and I look forward to seeing where the company goes from here.

When it came to completing my work … Your guidance and promptness in responding … greatly assisted in having the floating dock ready for any dockings without delays. Your leadership shines through with the team as well, with the most recent work done being managed amazingly … the team worked on the rainwater pump, which they completed without an issue or delay. Similarly … welding work on the pontoon deck was completed quickly and cleanly, without fault. … getting approval from the BV surveyor. The whole team, from the boiler makers to the heavy fitters, all work well together. All the machining done to maintain the docks valves and tanks was managed efficiently, with the work being completed well and in time. Your team communicated with me on all issues they found and provided exceptional advice on what needed to be done to rectify and retain the integrity of the dock.

I am … glad to see that the team is in good hands. In the last few months, I’ve seen the senior members … pass on their expertise to future fitters and boiler makers … thank you for your and your team’s remarkable support in the last 14 years.”
