SAMSON 7
FFE was engaged by Jetwave Marine to upgrade the Bow Roller of the Samson 7, using reverse engineering to design and manufacture a new one. The scope of work involved the fabrication, welding and testing of a new Bow Roller for the Samson 7, weighing 5.5 tonne at 5.8m in length by1.1m wide and 1.5m high.
Our team developed an inspection and test plan along with WPS and WQT which were approved by the client before the team fabricated and welded the new Bow Roller. NDT and a 100% MPI inspection were conducted on all welds in the outside area of the Bow Roller, witnessed and endorsed by third party specialists. The new Bow Roller was then transported to the vessel, installed and commissioned.
The team thoroughly cleaned and cleared the site before demobilising and returning to base to prepare and submit the MDR, including all relevant reports and certificates such as NDT, material and consumable certificates, WPS and WQT.
